Calendar/Reminder Tool for Thunderbird?
I just bought a new computer with Windows 7, and needed to upgrade to Thunderbird 3.0. Unfortunately, I loved Lightning
on my former XP computer, but it is not compatible with Thunderbird 3/Windows 7. Is there a good calendar/reminder tool anyone can recommend using within Thunderbird which does work with Windows 7/Thunderbird 3?

i've downloaded the hotmail-dl from webmail
now, when i look in the extencions-box, it says it's installed but "needs more extencions" (ok, don't know if that's what it would say in english, since i have the swedish version, that says "kräver ytterligare poster", so i'm not sure if i'm supposed to translate "poster" (wich i've translated to "extentions"))
but it doesn't tell me what more i need.
so... what other components do i have to download to make it work? it says on the website to download more, but they don't tell me what or give any links to a download.
please help me?

I'm writing to this community to try to get Mozilla product users and developers to contribute to the Mozilla Digital Memory Bank
Thunderbird users and developers are especially useful, as Firefox has become virtually ubiquitous, but Thunderbird is still plugging along, slowly increasing its user base... Which means we have a LOT more submissions that are Firefox-related than are Thunderbird-specific.
The Memory Bank is an interactive archive that allows users and developers to contribute images, videos, and accounts of their experiences using and creating Mozilla products, as well as to browse the histories left by others.
We're trying to create an archive of the history of Open Source, starting with Mozilla. Much as Mozilla's products are dependent upon the contributions of users and developers, we need people to help by submitting material for this archive.
Please consider helping out, by:
- Uploading images and documents,
- Creating a short video,
- Sharing a story,
- Responding to a brief questionnaire, or
- Volunteering for an interview.
We've put up a short video to try to promote the site, and raise awareness of the project. Please feel free to share it (or this post) with anyone you know who may be interested in participating:
Thanks for your time, and please give serious thought to contributing. I believe that preserving the history and evolution of Open Source programs will be an invaluable tool for future scholars. I hope some of you feel the same way.

Firefox and Thunderbird question
I have a question I hope someone can help me with...
I run Windows XP Professional, and use Firefox and Thunderbird. I believe both of these are the current versions. Anyway, my computer decided that it needed to run a windows drive consistency check (like what happens if you shut down improperly - except I hadn't) and it deleted all of my firefox bookmarks and information, as well as all of my thunderbird info such as ALL of my emails and settings and everything.
Does anyone know why this happened, or how to recover all the info?

I use an IMAP mail company (Runbox
, to be specific,) and sync Thunderbird up with that.
Occasionally, Runbox goes down.
It would be really
nice if Thunderbird could be made aware of the fact that just because my username/password failed once, doesn't mean it's suddenly a bad username/password and I need to reenter it. It could just be server problems! Because, you know, that's what it always is, and they'll be back up soon, just like they always are.
In other words, damn it Password Manager, please
quit flushing everything I had entered whenever Runbox is having issues. >:(

I'm having a strange problem with my inbox. It keeps reverting to being sorted by sender. I changed it to be sorted by date, but every time I leave that folder and go back, it's sorted by sender again.
Does anyone have an idea how to fix this?
I'm running Thunderbird version 188.8.131.52 (20070221).
Thanks in advance.

I've discovered that I can't send an e-mail using Thunderbird to more than three or four recipients. If I exceed that amount, NO ONE receives the e-mail. I've tried using another e-mail client and can easily CC up to 50 individuals -- so it's not the ISP.
I don't know if it's related, but I've also noticed that I can't save any drafts, either.
Can anyone help, please?

thumb drive app?
Hi, I carry a thumb drive with me a lot, and I like to keep some applications on it to use wherever I am such as Firefox. Well I am wondering if people would agree that Thunderbird would be good to use also on my thumb drive?
migration Tbird to Tbird
Ok, I'm a moron. Tbird is loaded on my pc #1. Pc #1 is near death. I'm not sure it will beboot again. I've used every kind of voddoo to get it booted one more time.
I'm networked to another computer (#2) and I want to move my Tbird files to computer #2.
Computer #2 does not have Tbird or Firefox installed yet. I am only concerned with gettin my Tbird stuff off of computer #1 to #2. #1 may then be rest in piece and get recycled.
I'm not sure how to migrate, archive, or prepare #2 for tranferring Tbird.

I finally made the switch from Mozilla to Firefox and Thunderbird.
But, comment reply is not working from my inbox. When I hit 'post reply' at the bottom of my comment notification I get the following error open in a new tab. One or more errors occurred processing your request. Please go back, correct the necessary information, and submit your data again.
* Comment not posted: POST required, or missing parameter.
Anyone know what's causing this problem, as I'm utterly stumped and I don't want to switch back, but I'll have to if I can't get the replies working.

I've just upgraded to 1.5, and it's started doing something kind of annoying with LJ comment notifications. Every notification that comes in gets "Thunderbird thinks this message might be an email scam".
I've tried getting it to stop, but I apparently fail at doing so. Is there any way to get Thunderbird to stop being so paranoid about LJ comments? Because clicking the "Not a Scam" button is getting kind of old.Edit:
Within five minutes of posting, I found a checkbox to turn this off. Problem solved!

I just upgraded to TB 184.108.40.206 today.
I haven't tried using the PalmSync XPI for a while as I'd had some troubles with it, and it was always a pain to get re-installed.
However, I downloaded a version of it intended for TB1.5 this evening. It installed without complaint, and it worked straight away.
I had been synchronising my TB address book with my mobile phone via "Mobile Master" (for which I had two profiles. For one Palm Desktop would overwrite my phone, then another profile where my phone would overwrite TB-AB). However, I had some problems with that which I couldn't fix this evening, which culminated in me wiping my TB-AB clear, and not being able to re-fill it from my mobile phone.
However, as I said, I installed the PalmSync xpi smoothly, and then set it with HotSync Manager for my Palm to overwrite my desktop, and now I have a full upto date TB AB!
Has anyone had the same experience, are there any problems/issues I should be looking out for?

Firefox & Thunderbird problems
I've had my new work computer, a Macbook Pro 15" running 10.4.6 for about a month now and I've noticed a few rather annoying problems with Firefox and Thunderbird.
Additional note, I have a logitech trackball mouse (4 button) and none of the following problems occured for me on my previous computer which was a G4 running 10.3.9
*Firefox no longer does the nice little control right click on a word to get the correct spelling, or to pull up any of the dictionary info that it does in other browsers and programs.
*Right Click long hold in certain places in Firefox will come up randomly and also when I'm at a dropdown menu and won't go away until I make a choice. The option box I'm referring to is the one that has Back, Reload, Select All, etc (I'm sure I'm using the wrong word for it). It won't even go away even if I click to a different program, another tab, my desktop, nothing. It will only go away if I make a selection in that option box. I usually choose select all to get rid of it then click the page to deselect after the option box has gone away.
*Copy/Paste Crash BOOM! This is probably the most annoying problem of them all. If I copy text from a page in Firefox and try to paste it into Thunderbird, then Thunderbird crashes and gives me a report error, reopen, close box. I've had this happen everytime I've tried to copy paste. Frustratingly, it's happened in the middle of some important emails.
Anybody else experience this problem? Is there a fix that I don't know about? Anything I should try to correct the problem? I didn't have any plugins on Firefox at all and just recently added a couple, but these problems occured from the very first install and update (I think I did an update on FF and TB). Where do you recommend I dig around to find a fix to these problems?
Thanks so much for your help!

Question about Thunderbird
I am a long time Eudora user. However, I've been toying with the idea of switching. (I do this periodically, but I've yet to find any that I like as well as Eudora.) The Bat! is my first choice (The only one that I think looks sufficiently better than Eudora for my purposes), but it's commercial and I don't have that kind of money. So, as a Firefox user, Thunderbird comes to mind as a logical choice.
Now, I tried it once before, about a year ago, and while I liked the user interface at first glance, appearing very Eudora-like, I fled in horror when I found that every message opened up in a new window rather than in it's own tab. For a person like me who often has more than one folder and message open at a time, this quickly becomes a horror indeed...
So the question is a two parter. One, does Thunderbird still behave in this manner, with a new window opening up for each? Two, if so is there a theme or extension that will change that? Current Mood: curious
